Sometimes you come to places where you prefer to stay a little longer. And that is exactly what we are doing at the moment. In hotel Palma Royale in Bocas del Toro to be fully clear! This lovely hotel has a fantastic location in Bocas town and if you sit on one of the upper floors you have a breathtaking view of the sea. The best way to have a perfect wake up!

Hotel Palma Royale is located in Bocas town on the island of Colón. The hotel has a good location in the center of this lively place but just outside the busy area so you can sleep peacefully. On arrival you will be welcomed by the ladies behind the reception. They speak perfect English and can also help you with booking boat trips etc.

Room
In the room you will find everything you need during a stay in Bocas: a good bed, a fresh-bean coffee maker and a spacious bathroom. Rinse the sand off your feet, under the hot shower (this seems like a small detail but is far from standard on this island). We stayed in the penthouse on the fourth floor and had a fantastic view of the sea. We even saw Isla Bastimentos from our balcony. This room is slightly more expensive than a standard room but the view is so cool. You have a 180º view from the huge balcony. But you also have a sea view from the bedroom, the shower and when you are washing in the kitchen. If you are traveling with more than one person, this room can also be interesting because it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms in addition to the spacious living room.

Breakfast
This hotel won’t let you go without a breakfast! And I think that’s a good thing. They take good care of their guests. Below the hotel is an Italian restaurant where Ugo serves a delicious breakfast every morning. You can choose from the breakfast menu yourself, for example a vegetarian omelet or cinnamon pancakes. Be sure to try the ‘coconut bread’.

Bocas Town
Bocas is the ‘capital’ of the island of Colon and of the island group Bocas del Toro. Here you will find many restaurants and the place is known for a exciting nightlife. There is also plenty to do during the day. From Bocas you can, for example, visit Bluff Beach by bicycle or a nice boat trip to neighboring island Bastimentos (like Red Frog Beach). Hotel Palma Royale is located on the edge of the lively center and you will find many nice restaurants in the immediate vicinity. If you like Indian cuisine, the Om Café is a must and if you prefer to eat a fresh salad, you can go to Café del Mar. These restaurants are both within a five minute walk.

We really enjoyed our stay at hotel Palma Royale. The view is so beautiful that it is almost a shame to go out the door. Recommended!
